That is the visit. Behind it, a chart: forty biomarkers, three years of trends, results from labs that never speak to each other, a history scattered across systems, and a patient who has already looked up their own answer.
You know the feeling when the door closes behind you and you still think: did I connect everything?
We built Biod because we kept meeting the same problem. It was never a lack of skill. It was a lack of time to see what was already in the data.
The problem is not you
Medicine now asks for more data than a human can hold. Panels get longer. Wearables, imaging and questionnaires add more. The visit stays the same length.
The numbers are sobering. About 1 in 20 U.S. adults experiences a diagnostic error in outpatient care each year. Researchers estimate that diagnostic error contributes to roughly 795,000 deaths or permanent disabilities a year in the United States. Behind those figures are rarely careless physicians. They are patterns that sat across several reports with no one having the time to connect them.
And when the day is done, the notes are not. Primary care physicians spend close to ninety minutes a day in the EHR outside clinic hours. That is time taken from sleep, from family, from the reason they became physicians.
What we built
Biod is a clinical intelligence layer. It reads the labs, the history and the visit together and gives the physician a structured clinical picture: a SOAP draft, the patterns worth a second look, what may be missing, which tests could complement the work-up, and drafts of orders and referrals for review.
Underneath is a base of more than 800 clinical algorithms. Eleven pattern engines are open today at biod.ai/tools, with their rules and evidence public, so any physician can move a value and see exactly why a pattern appears.
Two principles never change.
- The decision is yours. You accept, edit or reject everything. Clinical judgment, responsibility and the relationship with the patient are human, and they stay that way. Biod does not replace physicians. People trust people.
- You can always see why. Every pattern shows the rule and the evidence behind it. No black box.
Your patient already asked an AI
A growing share of U.S. adults use AI chatbots for health information, and most of them doubt the answers are accurate. Patients will keep asking. What changes is whether you walk into the room with the whole chart in view, the patterns surfaced and the reasoning visible. We want you to be the best-prepared person in that room.
What we are doing now
We are inviting a small group of physicians to try Biod on 5 to 7 cases over two weeks, free for three months, starting with synthetic cases. We would like your honest verdict, including where we are wrong.
